How 😎 is @RobertaFidora?!
Great to learn more about your history and ways of working, Roberta.
And *revelation* it’s pronounced, ‘curses’, of course it is! It’s so obvious now I hear you say it. 🤦♂️

I had the same epiphany ! It was great getting a peek into your creative universe, and seeing the real-life version of one of the backdrops of your video 😃

@sknob @ethicalrevolution @mixtape @lorenzosmusic Haha, I did wonder if anyone would make the connection between the backdrop and the vid.
And silly spellings were all the rage around 2010. 🙃

@sknob @ethicalrevolution @mixtape I will admit the backdrop was not caught by me 😁
Also @RobertaFidora thank you so much for taking the time to talk with me on the show! 😊

@lorenzosmusic @sknob @ethicalrevolution @mixtape Thanks for inviting me!
@RobertaFidora @sknob @ethicalrevolution @mixtape @lorenzosmusic I enjoyed hearing you describe your creative process and refreshing attitude towards marketing (something I’ve come to loathe doing).

@ambientspace @sknob @ethicalrevolution @mixtape @lorenzosmusic Thanks! I mean, I still like to find links between things and join them up (in a way that maybe borders on marketing), but I’m not really interested in giving money that could be better spent on mixing, puppets and wigs to Mark Zuckerberg and friends. 🙃

@RobertaFidora @sknob @ethicalrevolution @mixtape @lorenzosmusic it was the “less email” that I liked specifically. And your long use of Reason (my primary avenue for creating from 1999 to 2023) that resonated for me. And #puppeteering. And the unique vision.

I also used reason way back when and loved it. Can’t remember why I stopped.
@sknob @RobertaFidora @ethicalrevolution @mixtape @lorenzosmusic I started wanting to make devices and #Cardinal /#VCVRack led me down a delightful path of discovery. And then I found the #Bitwig grid. I had flow in Reason up through v12. v13 broke my model so deeply that I moved to Bitwig. I miss the easy glitching that Dr. OctoRex offered, but am finding new methods, so I am not looking back.
@ambientspace @sknob @ethicalrevolution @mixtape @lorenzosmusic I know a lot of folks were upset when they tried to push the Reason+ subscription model instead of letting people upgrade the license and they quickly had to deal with the fallout. I've always liked how visual, play-orientated and user friendly it looks though (along with the solid library of sounds).
@ambientspace @sknob @ethicalrevolution @mixtape @lorenzosmusic Had so much fun using that JPS synth stuff too and weirdo bits like that "drill-o-matic" effect in the combinator (which is the "Let Them Deep Fake" vocal effect but dialled back slightly).
@sknob @ambientspace @RobertaFidora @mixtape @lorenzosmusic Me too and me neither!
