Nothing Heals A Monsoon – NHAM Mixtape 14
Welcome to the 14th NHAM mixtape where youβre going to be eased in gently before being swayed one way and another, at the end of which youβll have received a deluge of delectable sounds from some of the best musicians circulating the Fediverse.
As always there is also a radio show version of this mixtape with some chat about the tracks. That can be Castopod or Audio Interface (@audiointerface) from the first Monday of the month as well as featuring in NHAM Radio‘s Mixtape Mondays and Thursdays slots.

1. Clouds Over Grass by James Hastings
All Rights Reserved
@james@musicians.today
James is someone Iβve been wanting to feature for a while and so when he dropped not one, not two, but three albums on the same day last month I knew this was the time. βClouds Over Grassβ is from βAn Observed Earthβ – James in nature.
2. solar punk by Naze du Vide
All Rights Reserved
@nazeduvide
I mean the songβs called βsolar punkβ, what more do you want? Bloody gorgeous though, isnβt it?! Wonderfully blending the rough with the smooth; the natural with the industrial; the tranquil with the triumphant; the modern with the classical, this is a gem of a composition.
3. New Delusion by Lime Bar
All Rights Reserved
@limebar
Dust yourselves off and try again. Lime Bar is a superstar of the Fedi music scene, contributing so much to help amplify the brilliant artists in this space. So let me try to amplify Lime Bar and his super βNew Delusionβ (which also has an accompanying video). As well as amplifying artists Lime Bar has done loads of behind the scenes work to aid the music community, including significant technical contributions for Audio Interface, NHAM and The Indie Beat Radio.
4. Nothing by Romeo Rucha
All Rights Reserved
@romeorucha
When Romeo Ruchaβs album came out earlier this year I saw many people get very excited. Having not previously having had the pleasure of an introduction this was my opportunity to get acquainted and it didnβt take long to understand the aforementioned heady fervour. Nothing. I love it. I respect it. And seriously: do more nothing, kids!
5. Marenge by Lies & Sets
CC-BY-SA-NC
@setto + @Lie
These two are a husband and wife duo from Sweden with Lie on luscious vocals. Set aka Setto is the man behind the brilliant Basspistol collective: an βOuternational Music Syndicateβ operating as a pro-active reaction to everything that is broken in the music-industry.
6. Monsoon by Ben Beltran
CC BY-NC-SA 3.0
@ruben
Ben aka Ruben makes some lovely pop songs. Born in Mexico and residing in Berlin he part-inspired the title of this mixtape, βMonsoonβ comes from his 2018 album βHeavenβ.
7. Gjensyn med enkelte rim by Espen Reinertsen
All Rights Reserved
@forgaflingspop
Adding to the stock of great Fedi musicians from Norway (alongside the likes of @lislegaard, @jennybm and @counivers) Espen currently has two absolutely delicious albums out and I believe a third is on the horizon. βGjensyn med enkelte rimβ is from βNattsynteseβ.
8. TOUCAN by Armatures
All Rights Reserved
@prestonoutatime
Preston aka Armatures is a Brighton based producer of top notch electronic music. βTOUCANβ is the second track from his latest album, βOSPREYβ, which he says is less experimental and more fun than his previous releases.
9. Good Things, Good Times, Positive People (In My Life) by BrotherSoul
CC BY-NC-SA 3.0
@brothersoul
Itβs likely youβve heard of BrotherSoul from his regular DJ sets on Love A Brother Radio. Itβs possibly a little less known that he also makes soulful house beats. Some, like this one, adorned with his own great vocals. So letβs make this a better known fact: BrotherSoul is a fantastic musician! Also keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming NHAM-LABR collab where BrotherSoul will be mixing some NHAM mixtape tunes in his Pick and Mix show.
10. Somebody by Stefan Bohacek
All Rights Reserved
@stefan
Thereβs nothing Stefan puts out that I donβt like. Itβs why I love writing and recording vocals over his music (for which we have plenty on the way!) βSomebodyβ, however, is one of his tracks that is just perfect as it is without anything added to it.
11. Mr Loaded by Danny Groenland
All Rights Reserved
@dannygroenland
It was Fedi popper @meljoann that introduced me to her compatriot Mr Groenland, and Dannyβs got a brand new album called βburning romeβ. The funky and right on βMr Loadedβ comes hot off it, using a funky and soulful vibe to express the inequality of billionaires accumulating obscene riches while most people struggle to get by.
12. Tanz mit mir by TΓ€glich Frisches Obst
CC BY-SA 4.0
@taeglichfrischesobst
Bringing back a mid-noughties Late of the Pier / Klaxons vibe, “Dance with me” is an invitation to briefly forget what’s going on in the world and fall back on one of lifeβs simplest and most liberating of activities. TΓ€glich Frisches Obst (which translates as βDaily Fresh Fruitβ) are a Linz-based, 5-piece indie-pop band who like to combine elements of funk, rock and jazz.
Bonus track! = Fiebertraum by TΓ€glich Frisches Obst
“Fever Dream” represents an expression of the chaos of both the EP, βBurger Queen Sex Kolaβ that these two tracks came from, and that of everyday life.
So that was the 14th NHAM mixtape titled Nothing Heals A Monsoon. -Perhaps now youβve listened to the mixtape the title holds a different meaning than the when you first read it? 👀

@mixtape just listened through it, love all these tracks, thanks for putting it together and for the feature <3!
