If you categorize your music as Industrial and Electropunk then you had better bring a lot of raw energy and edgy sounds to the show. Luckily for the listener Fortklang brings us both and a lot more in their new track Quantum.
The opening few bars wouldn’t sound out of place in a 1980s Georgio Moroder soundtrack. We are soon, however, dispelled of a Moroder soundtrack and we morph into KLF before the distorted lyrics start. To be honest nothing sounds quite as good as distorted German being half sung, half spoken into the mic. Then we really are transported into a different world – the Quantum world where even the smallest movement can trigger a reaction. Absolutely!
I recommend translating the lyrics if you don’t speak German – worth the effort.
I want more and a good dose of Nachtschicht also by Fortklang goes down well……. Now excuse me I am going to have to dig out my old DAF vinyl and remember the old days of Electropunk….
